Popular music at it’s best. Originally four friends from South Manchester, the quartet fuse folk with pop to create happy, upbeat pop gems to brighten up any gloomy day. The unstoppable mix of piano twinkling, hand clapping and tambourine thrashing began in the summer of 2006 followed by a wealth of gigs, a UK tour and an appearance at their hometown’s Manchester International Festival and In the City. Armed with a piano, glockenspiel, harmonium, melodica, violin and Sophie Sveinsson-lead vocals, the ever-growing pop-hole in Britain today needs filling – a gap Sophie’s Pigeons are strong contenders for.
